Escrima

Escrima, also known as kali or arnisis an ancient martial art system, evolved in the Philippines around the 9thcentury during the T’ang dynasty. It was outlawed during the Spanish conquestin the 16th century, yet preserved by the Filipinos who hid the art in dance.Escrima employs empty-hand techniques as well as traditional weapons. Trainingwill focus on the artistic aspect of the art as well as its application incontemporary self-defense situations.

 

You will learn principles based onserrada escrima as taught by Grand Master Angel Cabales and kali, taught by GuruDan Inosanto. Training principles include single stick, double stick and edgeweapons. You will learn basic counters, disarms, locks and take down tacticswith and without a stick.
