CMA System

Founded in 1986, CMAS was developed to prepare students for the unpredictable reality of potential assaults. More than a system of techniques, it trains mind, body, and spirit through psychological conditioning, situational awareness, and decisive physical action. You will learn how to recognize and assess pre-attack indicators, boundary-setting, and practical close-quarter tactics, to achieve a higher level of confidence.

You will also learn to appreciate the art form, which can improve proper body mechanics, speed, accuracy, and power.  Training is well-rounded, focusing on long, intermediate, close-quarter, and grappling range.  Principles taught evolved from a variety of systems, including escrima, boxing, kick-boxing, jujitsu, wing chun, jun fan kick boxing, jeet kune do, and Within Arms Reach (WAR).

Empowering the Fight Within

In the 70s and 80s, Graciela Casillas built an undefeated career—31 victories, 18 knockouts, no losses, despite restrictions that tried to hold women back. She fought through institutional ceilings, paving the way for future generations of athletes.

That same determination is the heartbeat of Casillas Martial Arts. The academy exists to show students that limits can be challenged, whether they come from outside expectations or from within. Every class is a chance to defy doubt, strengthen discipline, and grow in confidence.
